I’ve been experimenting with triangles

So recently I learnt how make canvases, so naturally I’m now experimenting with what shape they are. I had some wood from an old canvas frame that broke so I used that to make some triangle frames and brought some cotton canvas off of Leicester market to stretch over them.

I’ve got to say, triangles were a bit challenging to work with at first but I’m starting to get the hang of the different shape and making the composition work well. I’ve been using some photographs I took of trees at night, with street lights coming through the gaps as a starting point for the compositions. It’s interesting to think what happens in the nighttime and what’s happening why people sleep, like burglars lurking around and drunks stumbling home from the pub in the village, if anything it helps me come up with names for the work I create.

Shaun of the dead, ska music, nighttime lurkers, creepy vagabonds, nocturnal animals and drunks. #randominfluences
